Project Description

Project Description

Invest, Create, Inspire. Upacita is a business model for arts and cultural organizations and creative individuals in Jakarta to share ownership of collective businesses. It drives revenue to fund projects while aggregating the market power of people who, on their own, could not achieve these goals. Upacita provides independent funding to unleash the creative community’s full potential.

A Venn diagram illustrates the overlap between community capital, time and skills, and creative businesses. The left circle shows community capital, time and skills, and community loans. The right circle shows creative businesses and mutual aid and benefit. The overlapping area represents collaborative capital. The image displays the title "Upacita share ownership" at the top. Four stylized figures are shown, each representing a different aspect of share ownership: one person holding a red circle labeled "$5/month minimum =1 share," another person holding a red hourglass labeled "invest time 1 hour =1 share," a third figure holding a yellow lightning bolt labeled "contribute space, equipments or other skills = shares," and a fourth figure holding a red and white shield labeled "profit shares or donate profit by the end of the year." The figures are simple in design with minimal color and details. The image shows a colorful dashboard titled “Hello Ening,” which appears to be part of a community-focused initiative. The dashboard displays financial data for January 2014, including “shares” at 81, “money” at 18, “tune” at 3, and “inkind” at 3. The total value of “money” and “tune” combined is $120. The dashboard also indicates “running foodcart at Galeri Nasional” on Sunday, January 12, 2014, from 9 am to 4 am, with a “next timeslot schedule” shown. Below the dashboard, a pink button invites users to “apply for loan.” The top of the image includes the logos of “Collective Capital,” “Invice.create,” and “Business Unit.”Four views of a colorful food cart are shown against a dark gray background. From left to right: a front view showing the cart’s side; a back view showing the side; a mobile structure with hanging teardrop-shaped decorations and a pink top; and a mobile structure with benches and a yellow table. The word “upa cita” is visible in teal text on a teardrop-shaped sign.A yellow box contains two options: “$5/month” and “time,” with corresponding cartoon figures holding round objects. Below, a text box asks “Enter your monthly deposit” with “$10 minimum” and a “$5 minimum” option. A second text box reads “make this a donation to the community*” with “will not translate into shares.” A “2” appears next to “Shares,” and a “cancel” and “done” button are located below.A black and white portrait of a young woman with long, dark hair and bangs. She wears a light-colored top and a cardigan or sweater over it. The background is uniformly dark.
