Project Description

Project Description

Small Fry facilitates a guided process for hyper-local community problem solving, and aims to re energize local news in the 21st century by linking it to activism and impact. Small Fry is here to lower the barrier between getting involved and staying involved.

A woman walks past a phone booth on a sidewalk. She carries a backpack and holds a red bag. Two bicycles are parked nearby against a light-colored wall. The phone booth displays a poster with text reading “WE ALL LIVE UNDER THIS DELMAR DIVIDE.” The poster includes text mentioning “St. Louis Small Fry” and “ST. LOUIS SMALL FRY.”The image shows a collage of three smartphone screens displaying different aspects of a St. Louis Small Try app. The leftmost screen features a photo of a person riding a bicycle with a text overlay: “Love to ride a bike lane.” The center screen shows a map of St. Louis with highlighted circular markers. The rightmost screen displays a chat interface with the prompt “Your problem,” a timeline labeled “FEB 4,” and “TEAM BUILDING” with messages such as “Teams up to talk strategy and roles.” Below that, “FEB 5-15” shows “DRAWING PLANS” with text: “Leslie draws up new bike lane plans.”A screenshot of a webpage displays a headline reading “LOCAL IS POWERFUL” in bold black letters against a white background. Above the headline, the header reads “St. Louis Small Fry” in a black serif font. Below the headline, a smaller image shows a woman with dark skin and glasses, appearing to be speaking or reacting, with her mouth open. Below the woman’s image, a portion of a white sign with blue lettering is visible. The webpage has a dark teal background, and a navigation bar includes buttons labeled “REPORT INCIDENT,” “DONATE,” “MAPPING,” “VOLUNTEER,” “NEWS,” and “ABOUT.” A date and time stamp, “Tuesday, March 12, 2019,” is also displayed.A woman with long, dark brown hair sits against a solid orange-brown background. She wears a white long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. Her hands are clasped in front of her, and her gaze is directed slightly to her left. She has a neutral or slightly serious expression.
