Project Description

Project Description

OWL is a gamified, educational tool that breaks routine thinking, activates imagination and encourages original thinking within a shared community.

An open book displays a pink-to-orange gradient background. The left page features the text "Discover PLAY magic ex-pect fun" in a sans-serif font. The right page contains a black squiggly line. The book is positioned against a purple background.

A series of eight smartphones display different OWL apps, each with a distinct color scheme and content. The apps include: Absorbb (purple and pink), The Good Doctor (orange and pink), Play (orange and black), Diverse (yellow and black), Misfire (red and black), A Sound Recording (white and black), Astro Teller Shares His Secrets for Moonshots (white and black), and Meet the AI Guru Who Sold Alexa to Amazon for a Cool... (white and black). Each app features text, images, and icons on its screen.

The image shows three books laid out side by side on a purple surface. On the left is a book titled “PLAY” with black text on a pink and orange cover. In the center is a book titled “Discover magic ex–pect fun” with a purple cover and a stylized “S” design. On the right is a book titled “IT WAS ALL FUN” with a white cover and black text, featuring a black and white photograph of people in front of a building. The books have distinct color schemes and designs, presenting a modern and playful aesthetic.

The image displays a box and a card, both featuring the word “DIVERGE” in bold, black letters against a gradient background transitioning from purple to yellow. The box is positioned on the left side and includes the phrase “VEER FROM THE COMMON, AND GET ORIGINAL” below it. The card is on the right side and displays the phrase “DIVERGE RULES!” along with a set of rules: 1) the first rule is that off-girl and wild as possible, 2) do not censor, 3) each card indicates the time, 4) after the allotted time starts, 5) make up any other rules — play naked.

The image displays a tablet screen showcasing the homepage of the Owl app. The screen prominently features the Owl logo at the top. Below the logo, a navigation menu offers options to "Download the Owl App," "Enroll in Summer Courses," "Episode 22: Questions are the Answer," and "Podcasts." A yellow banner highlights "Episode 22: Questions are the Answer," presented by Hal Gregorson. At the bottom of the screen, three colorful book covers are displayed: "Imagine," "Diverge," and "Misfire," each with a tagline. The background of the screen is white, and the text is black. The tablet is positioned against a light gray backdrop.

Three smartphones display the Owl logo and the word "PLAY" in bold black letters against a gradient background transitioning from purple to orange. Each phone shows "refresh" buttons at the bottom and displays text describing gameplay: “Ice-Break: Act out tossing a 50-pound ball. Form a circle with your group and toss the ball randomly. Get free to throw and play. One minute.” and “Handshake: Break into groups of two. Invent a new handshake in four parts. When finished, take turns sharing your work with the other members of your team. Three minutes.”
