Project Description

Project Description

ManMade is an online system for rating quality American made menswear. Our goal is to ensure people have the most valuable information to make the best buying decision. Buying American is an unselfish endeavor. Consider buying American-made goods to support domestic craftsmen and designers, whose small businesses propel our economy forward and enrich our great history. We want to be the one-stop resource that people can turn to for trusted information when they want to buy American made clothing.

The image displays a comparison between the American flag and the year 1960. In 1960, the flag is shown with 95% of its red and white stripes and blue field visible, positioned to the left of the image. On the right side, the year 2011 is presented with 3% of its red and white stripes and blue field visible, placed above the image. The background of the image is a light gray color with a subtle diagonal pattern. The image uses bold black text to clearly contrast the significant change in the American flag's representation over time.Three black and white portraits are displayed side by side against a light background with diagonal stripes. From left to right, the portraits show a man in a white t-shirt, a man in a dark jacket and sunglasses, and a man in a suit with his hand near his chin. Below each portrait, the text “The Novice,” “The Believer,” and “The Evangelist” are printed in white letters on a brown background.A black tote bag with two dark handles sits on a light-colored surface. The words “QUALITY AMERICAN PRODUCT” are superimposed in white, bold, sans-serif font across the center of the image. A thin brown horizontal line appears at the bottom of the image.A black and white close-up image shows several small metal containers arranged on a circular surface. The containers hold various small metal objects, including what appear to be tools or hardware pieces. The containers are slightly separated from each other, and the objects within them are densely packed. The word “BACKBONE” is superimposed in bold white capital letters across the center of the image. The image displays text stating: “There is currently no precedent for a completely non-biased rating system specifically for American made clothing.”A black and white image displays four shoe types arranged side by side: Craftsmanship, Comfort, Versatility, and Durability. Each shoe is presented in a grayscale photograph showing its sole and upper portion. The Craftsmanship shoe features a stitched leather upper and a thick sole. The Comfort shoe has a smooth, rounded sole. The Versatility shoe shows a dark-colored upper and a lighter sole. The Durability shoe displays a dark upper with visible stitching and a thick, dark sole. The Cost shoe shows a dark interior with a visible label. The image shows two men in suits seated at red podiums, each with their hands clasped in front of them.
