Project Description

Project Description

A single piece of Ramadan pita is capable of encapsulating a thousand memories of those who made it and those who ate it. It also carries stories of its ingredients, those that gathered them, and those that sold them. Mârr listens to these memories of food, carefully selects and curates them. Then it explores new ways to exhibit audio stories vi-sually. It uses the Apple Newsstand to publish and distribute this experience that is made for the iPad only.

Three spherical objects are arranged on a blue marbled surface. Two are whole: one with an orange band and the other with a textured, metallic appearance. A third is cut in half, revealing its pinkish-red flesh. The objects are positioned in a loose triangular formation. The image shows four open oysters resting on a surface of blue and white marbled water. One oyster is positioned slightly apart from the others, with its shell displaying a mix of white and gold tones. Two other oysters are clustered together, with one showing a predominantly white interior and the other containing a gold/bronze interior. The fourth oyster is situated separately from the others. The surface beneath the oysters is smooth and reflective, with light playing off its glossy surface.A gold-colored circular frame with ornate detailing rests on a dark blue textured surface. The frame is adorned with small pink flower buds and thin, light brown branches extending outward. Inside the frame are three thin, light brown sticks positioned diagonally. The frame has decorative elements along its edges and appears to have a slightly aged or antique finish. The dark blue background provides a stark contrast to the gold frame and its delicate details.A yellow popsicle rests on a white t-shirt, its stick protruding from the top. A pool of yellow liquid is visible on the shirt near the popsicle. Four gold clothespins are arranged on the white fabric beneath the shirt. A woven basket is partially visible in the upper left corner. The background consists of yellow and white striped fabric.A young woman with long, wavy brown hair and dark eyes stands against a solid black background. She wears a black leather jacket and bright red lipstick. Her gaze is directed slightly to her left. The lighting is focused on her face and upper body.
