Project Description

Project Description

A classic word that means “ink” in Arabic, Al-Midad is a bilingual digital book that explores the journey of designing Arabic typeface through interactive demonstrations and engaging multimedia, this book will provide the building blocks and typographic resources for designers, design students, and educators to advance typographic contemporary practice. The book will follow the creation of a type-face by looking at the historical context, the script grammar, and the anatomy and technique behind letterforms, while also including interviews, thoughts, and guidance from practicing Arabic typographers.
