Exploring Rome with only a map and a camera, I discovered with some degree of unintentionally the theme of water, leaving me with what it means to be part of modern Rome. I sought wisdom that can be shared with respect for classic Roman vernacular. And, selfishly, I hoped that perhaps I could find my way to the water and experience the city's interaction with this vitality–our life–as it continues to flow long after we pass.
It started with me photographing fountains: first the Castel Sant'Angelo, then the refreshing mineral water bubbling its way to the top of my drinking glass aside a bowl of seafood linguine. It was an exceptional, sensory experience that made me grateful to experience the city that is constantly flowing with ideas, styles, cultural significances. More on the journey tomorrow.
