Winners of the Paul Rand Award for Venture 21 Development

This year MFAD announces the winners of the Paul Rand Award to five thesis students from the Class of 2021 who have displayed solid development potential with their respective Ventures (to be presented at the Venture Forum on April 14). The monetary grant of $1000 each is aimed towards aiding the students further test, refine or produce ancillaries for their products.
We are grateful to the Paul and Marion Rand Estate for providing MFA Design with the funds earmarked for pushing your Venture to the next stage.
The recipients and brief descriptions are:
Huiqi (Fay) Qiu, Tang Ren
Tang Ren
's mission is to connect eclectic small businesses in NY Chinatown with the young audience by bringing the most authentic Chinatown experience to everyone’s doorstep in a delightfully designed box.
Ruolin Feng, Soyum
Soyum
is a cooking class platform that popularizes homemade Chinese food by curating modern Chinese chefs who each teaches a unique perspective of Chinese cooking.
Tracy Jiayue Huang, Paper Airplane
Paper Airplane
reimagines the idea of writing a postcard, to encourage people to write down their sincere thoughts and send them to each other.
Eunji Kim, Neulu
Neulu
is a series of smartphone instruction kits to help the elderly navigate their smartphones easily and connect with others.
Ashlyn Stewart, School Me
School Me
is an app that helps students plan their life after high school, focusing on the financial literacy to guide them in making their early financial decisions.
