Elisa Bates (MFAD '12) will be screening her thesis film "Away" during the opening reception of "The Sports Show" at the SVA Chelsea Gallery. The show features over 30 alumni artists and designers.
Bates' film explores a deep commitment and love of a sport, delving into the inherent challenges that surfing in NYC brings. The film, shot at Rockaway Beach, was an official selection at 10 film festivals around the world and continues to screen at various surf and non-surf-related events.
