James Clough, letter master from Milan, kicked off his lettering intensive workshop following his always insightful origins survey of calligraphic and typographic traditions. Following the lecture students began drawing classic Bembo with finely sharpened pencils, to get an understanding of the relationship between the characters and nuances of types.
