Our close proximity to the Pantheon means that I walk by it almost daily. I finally made a point to get up a little early and go inside yesterday, which was awe-inspiring as expected. Since sitting on the floor inside is not allowed, I opted to draw it once more from the outside. I concentrated on a perspective that intentionally omits the iconic front facade. This is how I see it most often in passing. In the left side of the spread is a brilliant logo (Cake) by Marimo, a local design studio that we had the pleasure of visiting today. The diamond in the "a" is an arabic dot, which speaks to the book's content. This character replaces the traditional "a" in the typeface and translates into patterns appearing throughout the design.
