After his insightful yet concise introduction to the history of epigraphy, Mauro Zenaro, took the workshop participants on their first outing to see (and rub) the extensive inscription at Il Museo dell'Ara Pacis and the Roman inspired Fascist lettering on the former Mussolini office buildings at Piazza dei Cinquecento.
