Meet the Class of 2015: Emily Engelson

Meet the Class of 2015: Emily Engelson

Date

By Nigel Sielegar

This week we introduce the graduates-to-be, the class of 2015 and what they consider the best work of the past year.
Meet: Emily Engelson, Birmingham, MI
"Be Well Feel Well was created for Sefan Sagmeister's class "Can Design Touch Someone's Heart," says Emily Engelson. "It is a redesign of the bags that pharmacy customers use to bring home their medicines. The pharmacy seemed like the perfect place for an intervention, and full of untapped opportunities to do something small to cheer people up. The pharmacy I designed the bags for is at the intersection of a few different cities, one very religious and low income, one that was quite affluent, and Detroit, which has its share of problems. The biggest challenge was coming up with a design and message that would be appropriate for everyone."
