The Coppedè district in Rome is a wonderful and very different experience. There are various structures (40) designed by architect Gino Coppedè between 1919-26 in the Art Nouveau or Liberty Style. It is a combination of various period styles with an overwhelming amount of external mosaics, nude female pilasters, sundial, ironwork and carvings with musical notations. The centerpiece is Piazza Mincio's "fountain of frogs" referencing the 1584 fontana delle tartarughe in the Jewish ghetto.
