Keith Godard is design history, in part because he teaches design history. One of the pioneers of the discipline, Godard began formally teaching the continuum of graphic design movements and practices in the 1970s long before the likes of Philip Meggs, Richard Hollis and Steven Heller. A "student" of Lou Danziger (who turns 90 this week), the first to lecture on graphic design legacies, Godard, an accomplished graphic designer, brought his classes to life through performance, talk and display. As he finishes this semester's series of lectures, we tip our caps to the man who triggered the design history movement.
