Douglas Davis is an influential voice in the creative industry, both in front of and behind the concept. His passion lies in helping creatives transform the rational language of business into the emotional language of design. Davis describes his approach to creativity as a blend of right-brained creative problem-solving and left-brained strategic thinking. He actively contributes to the business of creativity discourse through various platforms, including AppliedArtsMag.com, the Midwest Digital Marketing Conference, The European Business Review, HOW Design Live, RGD Design Thinkers, and the OneClub Educators Summit.
In 2020, Davis partnered with Beijing Normal University Publishing Group to translate his book "Creative Strategy and the Business of Design" (2016) into Mandarin. He also completed a three-year term as Chair of the Emmy Award-winning B.F.A. in Communication Design program at New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn in June 2021. Davis serves on the advisory boards of the University of Oregon's Masters in Advertising and Brand Responsibility and City College's Masters in Branding and Integrated Communications.
As the principal of The Davis Group, he offers strategic solutions to client branding, design, and communication problems. Davis's integrated perspective as an educator, storyteller, and practitioner has enabled a natural evolution from designer to strategist, author, and professor.
