Guest lecture of Finely Crafted and Resonant

Finely Crafted and Resonant

Finely Crafted and Resonant

Date

By Victoria Holod
Our first year students were blissfully swept away by the work that Stefanie Weigler and David Heasty a.k.a Triboro showed them in this week’s guest lecture visit. Triboro is a Brooklyn based design company, run by the duo, that is committed to finely-crafted conceptual design that resonates with people.
Stefanie and David graciously went through some of the many projects they have worked on in the past couple of years, focusing heavily on the entrepreneurial part of what they do. This was perfect timing as our first years are currently beginning to think about possible thesis ventures.
They spoke of the importance of creating self-initiated work. Their Wrong Color Subway Map was a project of theirs, where they wanted to redesign the subway map to improve the geographic accuracy and visual hierarchy as well as develop a suite of typefaces more specific to NYC than Helvetica. Stefanie and David’s outcome is now a part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Make sure to check out their work - we guarantee that you’ll be looking at it for hours. Thank you Triboro!
