The New York Women in Communications Foundation, in conjunction with New York Women in Communications Inc., announces their 2011 scholarship recipients, whom will be awarded at the annual Matrix Awards—the industry event of the year, to be held on April 11, 2011 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City. This year, Camille McMorrow (MFAD '12), was one of the select few to receive this prestigious scholarship.

Ms. McMorrow will have the rare opportunity to be recognized with a select group of her peers during the event, which will be emceed by Sandra Lee, Food Network personality, editor-in-chief, Semi-Homemade Magazine and also feature Matrix Award winners and presenters including Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Arianna Huffington actress Idina Menzel and special Lifetime Achieve Award winner, Betty White.

"We are proud to support the dreams and celebrate the accomplishments of these amazing women,” said Joan Cear, president, New York Women in Communications Foundation. “Whether they are taking the first steps toward a career in communications or returning to school to advance their professional development, they represent a high standard of excellence. There is no better way to honor our organization’s mission to promote professional advancement and inspire women to 'Take the Lead' than to recognize this year's group of talented scholarship recipients."

The Scholarship Foundation is the largest foundation for communications scholarships for women in the tri-state area, with denominations of monetary scholarships in total of more than $100,000. Scholarships are awarded annually based on academic achievement, need, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community-service activities, honors and other awards or recognition, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, and unusual personal and/or family circumstances.
