All The Stuff That's Fit To Print Pt.1

By Nigel Sielegar

The second section of Maira Kalman's first year MFAD "New York Stories" class were assigned to follow people. They turned the results of their surveillances into a newspaper called "Following."

"We decided to follow people on the street. Not in a mean or threatening way, but in a curious and kind way," writes Kalman. "Each student followed a series of people for a bit of time. At the end of the following, an inexpensive item was purchased. The item didn't have anything to do with the walk, but was meant to be given away at the end of the semester."

Join the class in Union Square TOMORROW as they hand out Following.
